The Asha Handcrafts Collection exists to tell a different story.

Asha (åshā) means hope — hope for dignity, sustainability, and a future where craftsmanship is honored rather than replaced. Founded in 1975, Asha Handcrafts is a pioneering social enterprise based in Mumbai that works directly with Indian artisans to ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and long-term economic security. They are a Guaranteed Fair Trade–certified organization and proud members of the World Fair Trade Organization, upholding the highest global standards for ethical production.

Through Asha Handcrafts, more than 800 artisans across India receive marketing support and access to sustainable global markets — allowing ancient skills to thrive in a modern world. Every piece is made using locally sourced natural materials such as wood, ceramic, and textiles, reflecting the authentic colors, textures, and cultural richness of India’s diverse regions.

What makes Asha truly special is their commitment beyond commerce. As a mission-driven organization, all surplus earnings are reinvested into the social welfare, education, and well-being of artisan families — strengthening entire communities while preserving India’s artistic legacy.
