Artisan Story:

This group is located in the impoverished city of New Delhi and they work with Indian artisans across the country.  They are making a huge impact by employing workers at fair wages and offering safe, clean working conditions.   Some of the production happens in New Delhi, while other products are crafted in homes in remote villages.  This provides opportunities to women who otherwise would not have employment opportunities.  They pay above the government issued minimum wage.  Workers enjoy tea breaks each day and weekly prayer, as per tradition.  Their products incorporate recycled materials ranging from firehose, discarded denim, tea bags, and tires.  Not only do purchases support some of India's poorest people, but also our environment.
